July 29th – Advanced Processing of CAE and Test Data with Altair Compose

Altair Compose™ is an environment for doing calculations, manipulating and visualizing data (including from CAE simulations or test results), programming and debugging scripts useful for repeated computations and process automation. Compose allows users to perform a wide variety of math & linear algebra (including matrix analysis and differential equations), filter signals, fit polynomials through data, approximate or check results from commercial simulation software, perform optimization. This workshop will be a half day course in the afternoon of the 29th.

July 30th – Durability, SIEMENS

  • Stress, strain, damage, and fatigue life
  • Cyclic fatigue versus static strength

Understanding Loads-Test and Simulation

  • Load data acquisition
  • Strain gauges, LVDT, string pots, load cells, canbus and GPS.
  • Data cleanup: Spike removal, drift correlation and anomaly detection

Load Data Processing: Understanding Damage Content an Establishing a Target

  • Cycle counting, SN curves, miner’s rule
  • Mean stress and other SN curve adjustments
  • Rainflow counting and interpretation

July 30th – Meshless Analysis with Altair SimSolid

Altair SimSolid™ is a revolutionary structural analysis software developed specifically for design engineers (recently acquired by Altair). It eliminates geometry simplification and meshing, the two most time consuming and expertise extensive tasks done in traditional FEA. This half day workshop will be offered the morning of July 30th.

July 30th – Topology Optimization with Altair Inspire

Altair Inspire™ software is the industry’s most powerful and easy-to-use Generative Design/Topology Optimization and rapid simulation solution for design engineers. It enhances the concept development process by enabling simulation-driven design to increase your product’s efficiency, strength and manufacturability. This can lead to reduced costs, development time, material consumption, and product weight. This half day workshop will be offered the afternoon of July 30th.
